Daimler India Commercial vehicles (DICV) has showcased its all-new BS VI-compliant CV portfolio for India. Comprising a dozen medium and heavy-duty trucks and buses, this new generation of trucks and buses premiere with ‘profit technology+’ benefits package. The highlights of this new range include fuel efficiency, safety and comfort paired with reliability and connectivity along with reduced maintenance cost.
The new product portfolio is now open for pre-booking and is likely to be introduced based on the fuel availability in every region. Speaking at the BS VI product range rreveal in Mumbai, Satyakam Arya, MD and CEO, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles said, “BharatBenz’s new CV range offers Indian customers the solution they need for the future, setting new benchmarks for the medium and heavy-duty trucks with improved fuel efficiency, safety and connectivity. Going forward, we will move away from tonnage and focus on customized solutions for different applications.”
This new generation offering also heralds DICV moving away from the traditional tonnage classification. It will focus now on creating ‘the best truck for need’ customising for use applications and targeting specific sectors like e-commerce.
Upgraded features on BS VI range
The new BharatBenz range introduces many new features. The exteriors get a bold styling and are equipped with front grille with a bumper spoiler. The soft cruise control helps maintain a constant speed and improve fuel efficiency. It also comes with the future-ready electronic architecture, advanced human interface, easy fault detection.
The event saw the launch of a new digital platform called the 'Proserv', for serving the customers. It also unveiled two new smartphone-based telematic solutions - Truck Connect and Bus Connect. DICV claims that these services allow operators to track and analyse their vehicles in real time thus, allowing improvement in fleet and fuel management, reduced running costs, increased utilisation of assets and improved driver performance.

The Proserv application is enabled with 65+ features including advance booking, parts ordering, renewal of contracts, extended warranty, insurance, fleet maintenance, 24x7 RSA and integration with all types of online payment options.
DICV has confirmed that BharatBenz buses will come with the new future-ready electrical and electronic architecture 'ETec' that offers an advanced human interface, easy fault detection, chassis-body CAN interface and next-generation electronics.
The Bus Connect will cater to operators and passengers. While passengers can select their routes, tracking alerts and access on-board entertainment, operators will be able get fleet summaries, and reports that will improve fleet administration.
