Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, along with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, Japan (MFTBC), a Daimler Company, has begun export shipment of its DICV-made Fuso trucks to Cambodia, making it the 13th export market for DICV. DICV says the Cambodian market is seeing rapid growth in sectors like garments, logistics, mining and constructions. The first vehicles have been retailed and delivered to customers.
DICV currently makes five Fuso truck models at its Oragadam, Chennai plant and the ‘FA’, ‘FI’ and ‘FJ’ models are being exported to Cambodia, along with other markets like Kenya, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Brunei and Indonesia.
While most of the current export markets call for right-hand drive vehicles, the Cambodian market requires left-hand drive vehicles.
