Cummins India's mobile BS VI tech training fleet sets off on multi-city tour

Eight Cummins vans to reach out to OEM dealerships and authorised workshops to conduct BS VI awareness training for technicians, body builders, drivers and customers.

Cummins India today launched the first fleet of eight BS VI mobile training vans in India with the objective is to educate and offer training on BS VI technology engines. The campaign was flagged off at Cummins India Office Campus in Pune and the vans will be travelling to multi-cities across the length and breadth of the country, starting November 6.

The Cummins training vans will be travelling to OEM dealerships and authorised workshops to conduct BS VI awareness training for technicians, body builders, drivers and customers. This campaign will provide an opportunity for participants to have hands-on training experience without having to travel to centralised training centers.

Installed inside each of these vans is an actual Cummins BS VI engine with cutaway sections of engine parts and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system. It also houses the Cummins Single Module After-treatment system to give the audience a real touch and feel experience of the Cummins technology. The training van is equipped with LCD TVs to impart information and training videos for the Cummins BS VI engines. In addition, the Cummins BS VI engine is attached to the live wiring harness supplied with DC power for the simulation of static fault code. INSITE connectivity and features such as fault reset code, actuation test etc. can also be carried out. INSITE application will reduce troubleshooting time, errors and incorrect procedures and quickly get the vehicle back on the road.

The training vans are highly equipped and are effective and faster way of generating awareness and training on the latest Cummins technology."

In the first phase, the fleet of eight training vans will be travelling across major cities like Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Jaipur and covering 10 cities and towns each month.

Cummins India designs, manufactures, distributes, and services engines and related technologies in India. The company operates through four business units: Engine Business, Components Business, Power Systems Business, and Distribution Business. The Engine Business manufactures and markets diesel and natural gas engines ranging from 65 hp to 400 hp for the low, medium, and heavy-duty on-highway commercial vehicle markets, as well as the off-highway commercial equipment industry comprising construction and compressor.
