NASSCOM Centre Of Excellence – IoT & AI in partnership with Telematics Wire organised the 5th edition of one of the biggest show of the Connected Vehicles in India ‘Connected Vehicle 2020’ at Bengaluru. Connected Vehicle 2020 is a three days conference from 3rd to 5th March 2020. More than 80 exhibitors, 10 connected vehicles are on display and over 1200 delegates from different sectors are attending the show to hear and meet the 60 speakers during 10 different sessions.
Connected Vehicle 2020 is aimed at exploring the upcoming technology trends and disruptions that will affect the traditional vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, potential new players, regulators, consumers, markets, and the automotive value chain. The conference aims to make imminent changes more tangible.
During the event, it has come to the fore that the Government policies mandating the adoption of AIS-140 devices providing vehicle location tracking capabilities and one or more emergency buttons in public transport vehicles are designed to enhance safety and security. As the ministry is also planning to make ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) a mandatory feature in the upcoming vehicles by early 2022, the time has come for the industry to step up and support the government to incorporate these technologies in the ITS infrastructure.

The future of the automotive industry is connected, autonomous, smart, shared and electric mobility. India is a fast-emerging market for connected vehicle business along with being the key development ground for vehicle telematics. Telematics-enabled mobility is the key to the implementation of an Intelligent Transportation System, which is expected to drive the future of connected transportation.
