China’s tyre repair giant Wanshida targets India aftermarket

China-based tyre repair tool specialist Guangdong Chaoan Wanshida Automobile Accessories Co (Wanshida) has taken the Bangaladesh route to enter the Indian aftermarket.

The company launched its tyre sealant, christened Mega Magic Tyre Selant, and other related products at the recently held ACMA Automechanika New Delhi. Wanshida will sell this product in India through Mega Group, a Bangaladesh-based international auto parts distributor.

Talking to Autocar Professional, Dr Zia Md Jahangir, chairman of Mega Group, said, “Our company also has a corporate office in China through which we are linked to Wanshida.” The company will sell instant tyre sealant products in the Indian market.

The product has been developed by the Chinese company by sourcing technology know-how from an undisclosed British technology provider. “The Chinese company has preferred us as we have links with both China and India by headquartering in Bangaladesh,” he added.

Targeted at Indian two-wheelers and passenger cars, the product christened ‘Mega Magic Tyre Sealant’, can seal at a time 50 cracks or leaks in any kind of tyre and tube. It can seal tyre cracks (leaks) in sizes from 6.8mm to 38mm.
