Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) announced the launch of EV Fast-Charging stations on two corridors in India's southern region, Bangalore-Chennai and Bangalore-Mysore-Coorg Highway, at an event in Bangalore on Friday. The first phase included the Chennai-Trichy-Madurai highway.
The fast chargers adhere to the CCS-2 protocol and are strategically placed at nine of its fuel stations located approximately 100 kilometres apart on both sides of the routes.
Customers will be able to discover and charge their EVs in about 30 minutes, which gives them a travel range of up to 125 kilometres. The fast chargers can be used without any manual assistance; however, if and when assistance is required, support staff will be available, the company said.

Our leading edge in providing “superior” solutions and experiences will serve our EV customers along the two new corridors and will provide a Pure for Sure experience in this exciting journey of electric mobility.”
BPCL intends to accelerate its focus on new business segments with the announcement of the launch, while also converting its 7,000 conventional retail outlets into energy stations with multiple fuelling options. This will also include an EV charging station in the medium to long term.
