Blaupunkt India, the car infotainment company, has introduced its TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems) in India.
TPMS solutions help provide real-time information and customisable alerts on tyre pressure and temperature conditions. This helps mitigate the risk of accidents caused by tyres, a very common problem in India, particularly with increase in highways, freeways and vehicles operating at higher speeds.
The TPMS system gathers accurate pressure data directly from the tyre valves via wireless sensors. It helps with flat tyre prevention, tyre wear reduction and contributes to high impact fuel savings, by ensuring that tyres operate in optimal conditions.
The TPMS kit includes a display unit along with four easy to install tyre sensors (including a locking mechanism to prevent theft).
In several international markets, tyre pressure monitoring is becoming a regulatory safety requirement for automotive OEMs and therefore applicable to India OEMs exporting vehicles to these markets.
According to Preeti Bakshi, marketing head of Blaupunkt, “This is the first of several additional products that the company will launch in this emerging but important segment. Blaupunkt is leading the way with a range of TPMS solutions and technologies for retail and OEM segments, including passenger and commercial vehicles, where the company’s TPMS solutions can monitor vehicles with 20+ tyres and integration of the data into the head unit display, CAN network and smartphones.”
