The Bangalore-headquartered Avigna Motor Sports (AMS) launched a range of All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) and quad bikes for the Indian market while inaugurating its new showroom in Bangalore on Monday.
According to Anupam Deb, founder and CEO, Avigna Motor Sports, India, the company is importing CKD units which are assembled at its CKD assembly plant in Pune. Deb says Avigna is the first and only company in India to bring ATVs as CKD kits and assemble them in India.
According to Deb, “With a sharp focus on Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets in India, Avigna Motor Sports India has steadily strengthened its position as the preferred ATV and quad bike manufacturer. This growth can be attributed to introduction of products that have been well received by customers, development of a distribution network and launch of service centres nationally.”
The new showroom at ‘Prestige Copper Arch’, Infantry Road, Bangalore, features a wide range of ATVs including those meant for motorsport racing, electric golf carts, amphibious watercrafts, and agricultural vehicles and supported with one of the largest assortment of AMS gear for motorsport enthusiasts.
AMS is also setting up a six-kilometre dirt track for enthusiasts in Hennur in Karnataka.
“The most important differentiator that AMS will bring is insurance of vehicles and one year in unconditional warranty,” adds Deb.
The vehicles are available in 125cc+, 200cc+, 250cc+ and 500cc+ while customised vehicles can be made right upto 1200cc. While the products are priced from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 18 lakh, the sportswear gear costs in the Rs 25,000 to Rs 200,000 range.
Moreover, he said ATV does not need to be registered in most countries including Indian RTOs and doesn’t even need a driving licence.
However now ATV owners can ride their bike on the road as RTO registration is accepted in the state of Karnataka by the Karnataka High Court, but the vehicles need ARAI approval which is in pipeline.
