As promised, Harley-Davidson India has officially launched the Harley-Davidson Street 750, powered by the new liquid-cooled 'Revolution X' powertrain at the Auto Expo.
The bike, which was first displayed at the EICMA Motor Show in Milan last year, has a highly competitive price of Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is a result of local manufacturing of the model at the company’s plant in Bawal, Haryana, where it also plans to make the Street 500 model (meant only for global markets, excluding India).
After having surveyed over 3,000 young consumers from 10 countries including India, the Street 750 is a more manageable, manoeuverable motorcycle with an all-new suspension and a ground clearance of 144mm. It is powered by a four-stroke, 750cc, V-twin engine, with a torque output of 6.62kgm at 4000rpm and mated to a six-speed transmission. Bookings for the Street 750 will begin from March 1, 2014.
Harley-Davidson India has sold a total of 1,297 motorcycles in India between April-December 2013 against 779 units sold during the same period last year, registering growth of 66.5 percent year-on-year.
