Ashok Leyland has launched the latest variants of the Intermediate Commercial Vehicle (ICV) Guru 1010 and Medium Duty Vehicles (MDV) variant of the Boss – the Boss 1616 and Boss 1916 – in Mumbai.
According to the company, while the Guru 1010 offers an ideal combination of best-in-class fuel efficiency and highest actual payload in the segment, ensuring maximum returns per kilometer, the Boss 1616 and 1916 combine form and function “to create the ultimate MDV for the perfect balance between payload and performance.”
Speaking on the launch and overall M&HCV business, Anuj Kathuria, President, Global Trucks, Ashok Leyland, said, “Our trucking portfolio has been growing at a fast pace, leading to our customers wanting more options and customisations in their vehicle. The new Guru 1010, Boss 1616 and Boss 1916 are a result of customer feedback and market requirements. The Guru new-generation ICV, which is powered by three-cylinder UPCRS EXP engine, has a number of highlights including a hydraulically tiltable day cabin; high-sided deck; larger windshield and 6-speed synchromesh GB with over drive. The vehicle comes with 4 different loading spans to cater to various applications.
The Boss 16- and 18.5-tonne truck is designed for enhanced axle-loads as per the new regulations. The new 160 hp engine delivers the best-in-class mileage and pickup, helping maintain uptime and turnaround time. Like the Guru, it comes with 4 different loading spans to cater to various applications.
