Ashok Leyland, India’s second largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland has announced that it has bagged an order worth Rs 321 crore from the Institute of Road Transport (IRT), Tamil Nadu for supply of 2,000 passenger chassis and 100 fully built small buses to various State Transport Units (STUs) in the state.
Vinod K Dasari, chief executive officer and managing director, Ashok Leyland, said: “We are happy to receive this order from the Institute of Road Transport (IRT), Tamil Nadu. We have a long and proud partnership with IRT. We will continue our efforts towards their success.”
Sanjay Saraswat, senior vice-president, Global Buses, Ashok Leyland said: “Our buses are durable, robust and employ the latest in technology. Ashok Leyland, which has sold a total of 137,079 units (+18.42% YoY growth)in the first 11 months of FY2018, currently has a market share of 18.33 percent.
