Apollo Tyres has announced the appointment of Raj Banerji as its chief financial officer (CFO). He takes over from Sunam Sarkar, who was recently redesignated as the president and chief business officer. Raj will report to Neeraj Kanwar, vice-chairman and MD, Apollo Tyres.

Apollo Tyres has announced the appointment of Raj Banerji as its chief financial officer (CFO). He takes over from Sunam Sarkar, who was recently redesignated as the president and chief business officer. Raj will report to Neeraj Kanwar, vice-chairman and MD, Apollo Tyres.
Commenting on Raj’s appointment, Neeraj Kanwar said: “We are on the cusp of our next phase of growth globally. Having a person like Raj join our global team at this crucial time, with a strong international experience, will provide further impetus to this growth, and at the same time, contribute to the organisation’s overall financial health and stability.”
Raj’s last assignment was with one of India’s largest private companies, where he worked as CFO for the refining business. Prior to that, he had a 20-year career with BP (formerly British Petroleum) in various leadership roles in oil exploration, commodity trading, marketing and refining. With a total of 24 years of work experience in Europe, Middle East, and Asia, he has handled key functions such as investor relations, corporate finance, planning and performance management, and risk management.
Speaking about his appointment, Raj Banerji said, “I have joined a tremendous organisation when it is at an inflection point, poised for expansion on a global platform in an environment which has great opportunity. A key priority is to continuously improve internal efficiencies and create greater value for our customers and business partners.”
