APL Apollo adopts renewable energy resources for enhanced efficiency
APL Apollo installs rooftop solar units at its manufacturing facilities to embrace efficiency.
In an effort to reduce the CO2 emissions and generate energy at a lower cost at its factories in India, APL Apollo Tubes Limited (APL Apollo), one of the leading steel tubes manufacturers, has installed the rooftop solar plants at its manufacturing facilities at Murbad and Sikandrabad.
Thr rooftop solar plants have a total capacity of 1.3MW and 1.2MW at Murbad and Sikandrabad respectively. APL Apollo is currently reviewing the performance of these installations and will base its further course of action based on the reviews. The company plans to install similar plants at its other manufacturing units in India.
The rooftop solar plants are in sync with its approach for a sustainable ecosystem through efficient energy consumption and through optimum utilisation of renewable energy sources such as solar power and wind energy. Furthermore, the company says that this project will also foster significant cost-savings through lower energy loss, reduced electricity bills and maintenance costs in the company operations.
