The Auto Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) is organising a 10-member CEO delegation to China from March 10-13. The delegation supported by the embassy of India, CCPIT and CII-Shanghai will visit Shanghai and Chongqing.
Led by ACMA president Harish Lakshman and comprising CEOs of leading auto component manufacturers, the delegation will explore business opportunities with the Chinese automotive industry.
The four-day visit will see the delegation interact with global and Chinese OEMs, Chinese component manufacturers, government officials and local industry bodies to update them on the growing capabilities of the Indian auto component industry as well as further business engagements between the two countries.
ACMA delegates will meet CEOs and purchasing heads of leading OEMs, two-wheelers and passenger vehicle manufacturers such as Ford, GM, Volkswagen and Lifan Motorcycles, and component manufactures including Faurecia, Corning, TRW and Sokon.
Commenting on the visit, Harish Lakshman said, ”ACMA has undertaken several such business development initiatives for the Indian auto components industry in China, the success of which has been a mixed bag. However, with the Chinese automotive market being the largest and the fastest growing in the world and with the rising trade deficit between India and China, the Indian auto component Industry, with its growing capabilities, is keen to explore prospects of exports to China. In 2012-13 China exported auto components worth $ 2.4 billion to India while India exported $ 203 million to China.”
