M&M bags Dun &Bradstreet Rolta Corporate Award

Mumbai, June 13, 2012: Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has received the Dun & Bradstreet – Rolta Corporate Award 2011 for being the No. 1 player in the automobile sector in the list of India’s Top 500 companies. The awards felicitated 56 of India’s leading corporates across sectors. Pravin Shah, chief executive, automotive division, M&M, received the award from Kapil Sibal, Minister of Human Resource Development, Communications & Information Technology, government of India, at a function held in Mumbai.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Shah said, “The Dun & Bradstreet – Rolta Corporate Awards are widely respected across industry and we are delighted to receive this honour in the automobile sector. It is a clear validation of our overall approach to business and customers at large.”

D&B India developed a proprietary financial model for identifying the top companies in each sector. The model is based on the premise of recognising the twin virtues of size and growth of the companies while awarding them. The analyst team identified pertinent financial parameters to fulfill this premise and assigned weights to them. Winners were chosen on the basis of a composite score of these weighted parameters. The eight parameters considered for choosing the award winners include total income, net profit, net worth, net profit margin, return on net worth, average market capitalisation for FY11, growth in total income and growth in net profit.
