Zagato, the Italy-based automotive design company, has designed a unique variant of MV Agusta’s F4, called the F4Z for a Japanese entrepreneur as a collectible motorbike – a one-off piece.
The F4Z, built on the standard structure of the four-cylinder, 998cc, MV Agusta F4, has been designed and engineered by the team at Zagato using materials such as aluminium, carbon fibre and others in the luxurious motorcycle’s bodywork.
According to an official note from the company, the motorcycle, which is also a unique artwork, is made of “a limited number of relatively large panels, this is the characteristic that, in the motorcar world, sets apart collectibles from mass produced automobiles.”
“Compared to the production MV Agusta F4, the F4Z features entirely different bodywork. Some parts had to be adapted and re-engineered, others fully replaced by components that were made specially: intake manifolds, fuel tank, battery, exhaust system,” quotes the company release.
While designing the F4Z, Zagato’s team of designers and engineers studied the lifestyle, traits and expectations of its Japanese client, a young entrepreneur with interests in fashion and publishing industries.
The company note says that for MV Agusta, the F4Z represents a different result compared to the traditional rules of customisation (of a motorcycle), witnessing the brand’s entrance into the niche of collectibles, built on request and expression of exclusivity, uniqueness and investment in durables.
On the other hand, for Italy’s Zagato, the company founded by Ugo Zagato in 1919, the MV Agusta F4Z represents a digression beyond the car universe, its traditional field of expression.
