Yamaha premieres concept hydrogen golf cart at PGA Show 2024

Yamaha Golf-Car Company (YGC), a consolidated subsidiary of the Yamaha Motor Corporation that also sells golf carts in the United States, has developed a hydrogen-powered engine golf cart concept model, the DRIVE H2. The concept model is the first of its kind and is currently on display at the PGA Show in Orlando, Florida, one of the golf industry's largest events being held from January 24-16.

The DRIVE H2, which is equipped with two high-pressure hydrogen tanks of 25 litres each positioned under the driver's seat and on the back of the rear seat, is based on Yamaha's DRIVE2 CONCIERGE4, a four-seater golf cart sold mainly in the United States, but also around the world.

Yamaha's DRIVE H2 concept model is the first of its kind.

Hydrogen engines are internal combustion engines that can make use of existing technologies and at the same time do not emit CO2 during the combustion process. Yamaha is conducting research and development of this technology as it has the potential to achieve both the continued use of internal combustion engines and decarbonisation.

To date, Yamaha has announced concept models equipped with hydrogen engines, including generators and ROVs, and now the DRIVE H2.
