Wuling launches new Hong Guang Plus, its largest MPV yet

At 4722mm long, 1840mm wide and 1810mm tall, with a 2,800mm wheelbase, this is the largest member of the Hong Guang family.

Chinese automaker Wuling has launched the all-new Hong Guang Plus MPV. The newest member of the popular Hong Guang MPV family, which has a roomier interior, is priced from RMB 65,800 to RMB 79,800.

The Hong Guang Plus is 4,722 millimetres long, 1,840 millimetres wide and 1,810 millimetres high, and has a 2,800-millimetre wheelbase, making it the largest member of the Hong Guang family.

It has been enhanced outside and inside. The Hong Guang Plus features a lean and tough exterior design with parallel and angled lines. A wing-like grille and headlights give the front a steady and stylish stance. Its floating roof adds to its contemporary look.

The spacious and exquisite interior, with a choice of seven or eight seats, represents a design breakthrough for the Wuling brand. The centre console gets an 8-inch screen. The Hong Guang Plus is available with a six-way adjustable driver’s seat, an adjustable electric rearview mirror with heating and defogging functions, and a multi-function steering wheel.

The Hong Guang Plus is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. It generates 108 kW of maximum power and 245 Nm of maximum torque. Its torque is equivalent to the torque of a 2.4L engine at 2,200rpm. The outstanding torque performance enables impressive acceleration and hill-climbing and heavy load-carrying capability. Fuel consumption is 7.3 litres/100 km.

All the safety front, all trims are equipped with electric power steering (EPS), the antilock brake system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It is also available with an electric heated rear window, a rear wiper, a rear camera, front fog lights and dual front air bags.

The Hong Guang is one of the most popular vehicle nameplates in China, with more than 4.5 million units sold since its introduction.
