Voith Industrial Services wins contract to cater to Jaguar Land Rover

Voith Industrial Services, a leading service provider to the UK automotive industry, has won a contract with Jaguar Land Rover. The contract involves managing a range of services at Jaguar Land Rover’s UK manufacturing plants at Solihull, Castle Bromwich, and Halewood.

The contract, an extension of the existing Voith Industrial Services’ contract for Jaguar Land Rover’s new Engine Manufacturing Centre at Wolverhampton, involves 700 employees. Voith Industrial Services, provider of technical cleaning services in paint shops in 80 car plants worldwide, will continue the same services at Jaguar Land Rover’s three UK plants.

On winning the contract, the sales and business development director of Voith Industrial Services, Phil Spencer, quoted, “We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Jaguar Land Rover and are obviously delighted that it will continue in the future”.

“The recent expansion of Jaguar Land Rover into new markets, and their introduction of new models, makes Jaguar Land Rover a strategically important customer, and we hope we can build on this success over the coming years.”

Other technical services that Voith will be responsible for include electrical, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning maintenance. Facility management services will also include janitorial cleaning, office cleaning, waste management and buildings.

Voith is responsible for managing and controlling all incoming material for the engine dress process. Engineers will prepare engine kits, and assemble the gearbox and ancillary parts to the engine including starter motors, alternators, power take-off, pulleys, fan belts, and the full wiring harness.

Recently, Voith Industrial Services made further inroads into the UK automotive sector by winning contracts with Peugeot and Vauxhall Motors.

In the UK, Voith Industrial Services employs 2,400 people – mainly at customer sites across the country. The company has an increasing sales turnover and provides services in four main areas – facility management, technical cleaning, wheel and tyre assembly, and managed processes.

Voith Industrial Services is part of Voith GmbH that sets new standards in the energy, oil & gas, paper, raw materials and transport and automotive markets. In India too, the company has a sizeable presence. Voith Industrial Services India (VISI), the four-year-old Indian arm of German giant Voith’s industrial services vertical, is the preferred industrial services partner to automobile OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in India.
