Visteon Corporation is to showcase its latest in-vehicle connectivity solutions and discuss the auto-mobility revolution at Telematics Detroit 2014 in Novi, Michigan from June 4-5. Telematics Detroit is considered to be the world's largest forum dedicated to the future of connected auto mobility.
A highlight of the display is a demonstration vehicle equipped with a 4G LTE Telematics System with Wi-Fi Hotspot. The company says this global product reduces manufacturing complexity because it is built on a single hardware architecture that supports regional requirements through unique modem implementations. Developed in partnership with Autonet Mobile, the system incorporates not only a telematics control unit (TCU), but OS software, apps and cloud services for a complete end-to-end solution.
"Our panel participation and products showcased at Telematics Detroit demonstrate our commitment to advancing vehicle connectivity," said Martin T Thall, president, Visteon Electronics. "We're showing leading-edge solutions available today that keep vehicle owners connected to their evolving digital lifestyle."
Visteon's Telematics System provides infotainment services for all vehicle occupants to access local and cloud content through the Wi-Fi hotspot or 4G LTE network. Premium telematics services connect the vehicle to mobile devices and the Internet of Things to enable remote diagnostics, remote commands (vehicle start, door lock/unlock, etc.) and concierge apps (Find My Car, Parental Controls, etc.).
Also on display will be Visteon's OpenAir infotainment products that are based on open architecture, human-machine interaction (HMI) command and controls, and off-board wireless data connections.
