Automotive electronics supplier Visteon Corporation is to showcase how mobility and connected technologies and services can improve a vehicle’s lifetime value
Automotive electronics supplier Visteon Corporation is to showcase how mobility and connected technologies and services can improve a vehicle’s lifetime value while enhancing the ownership and driving experience at the 2015 Mobile World Congress from March 2-5.The company will demonstrate automotive-first Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) updates using LTE multicast technology.
Visteon will show live demonstrations of Cloud-based, connected technologies which, through 4G LTE over-the-air connections, provide new features and services to keep vehicles up-to-date with next generation technology and services.
“Technology will define how mobility, the Internet of Things and the auto industry work together to build the cars and transportation systems of the future,” said Christian Feltgen, vice-president, Visteon electronics technology office. “As one of the leading technology companies in automotive, Visteon is designing connectivity into all our products by using Cloud-based technologies and over-the-air connections to transform driving into a truly connected experience.”
Through a range of interactive displays, Visteon will demonstrate
- LTE Multicast, an automotive industry-first using Visteon’s Connected Vehicle Hub and Verizon LTE Multicast technology to enable automakers and dealers to broadcast software updates to an entire fleet, manufacturing plant or region
- Wireless Gateway, Visteon’s next-generation connectivity module, manages a complex wireless environment inside and outside the vehicle, while maintaining seamless connectivity and a high level of security. Software updates, detailed diagnostics and vehicle network monitoring are supported.
- SmartCore is a first-to-market connected domain controller, integrating driver information, infotainment and connectivity through one seamless human-machine interaction (HMI). Multiple domains can run side-by-side on scalable hardware through different operating systems, greatly reducing complexity.
The Mobile World Congress is the world’s largest exhibition and conference for the mobile industry, with representation from mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, content owners and automotive companies.
