Suzuki Motor Corporation today revealed its preliminary figures for automobile production, sales in the Japanese home market and exports.
In its home market of Japan, production volumes decreased year-on-year due to the decrease in production for both domestic and exports. Overseas production volume decreased year-on-year as a result of the decrease in countries including China and India (118,219 units/-2.83% YoY), despite an increase in some markets including Hungary and Thailand. As a result, Suzuki’s overall global production volume decreased year-on-year following the reduced production volumes in both Japan and overseas markets.
In Japan, mini vehicle sales fell year-on-year following a decrease in sales of models including the Wagon R, despite increase in sales of models including the Every and the Carry. Standard and small vehicle sales in Japan increased year-on-year owing to the increase in sales of models including the Solio and the launch of the all-new Ignis. Total Japan market sales of minivehicle and standard and small vehicle sales decreased year-on-year.
On the export front, overall exports decreased in February due to the decrease in exports to global markets including Latin America and Africa.
