In 2023, Skoda Auto achieved a notable increase in its vehicle deliveries, reaching a total of 866,800 cars, representing significant growth (+18.5%) over the previous year. This translates to 135,500 additional cars compared to 2022.
Germany continues to be the brand’s largest single market, with 157,800 vehicles delivered (+17.6%). Additionally, Skoda posted a strong result in the Czech domestic market, with 87,800 deliveries (+23.4%). The strongest growth was recorded in Germany, the Czech Republic and the UK, which achieved a record market share of 3.7% and 43% volume growth. The all-electric Enyaq series, which is among the best-selling EVs in many European markets, set a new record since its launch, with 81,700 vehicles sold (+52.1%), 10% of which found homes in the UK. Moreover, by entering the Vietnamese and Kazakhstan markets in H2 2023, Škoda Auto is advancing its international growth strategy.

Marking significant strides in global expansion
In September, Skoda strategically entered the Vietnamese market to leverage the ASEAN region’s potential, where Vietnam is projected to lead with an anticipated annual sales volume exceeding 40,000 units after 2030. Additionally, it offers significant synergies with the company’s activities in India. At the recently inaugurated logistics hub in Pune, the CKD (completely-knocked-down) kits of the Indian-made models Kushaq and Slavia will be prepared for export to Vietnam for final assembly. In India, Skoda has reached a significant milestone, delivering 100,000 vehicles to customers in two years. Additionally, the automaker is re-establishing its presence in Kazakhstan through a strategic partnership supporting the local assembly of the Kodiaq, Kamiq, Karoq and Octavia.
Octavia remains the top-selling Skoda
The Octavia sedan maintained its position at the top of the best-selling Skoda model table, which comprises six passenger cars (one hatchback and five sedans) and five SUVs. The Octavia, with global sales of 191,900 units, an increase of 36% YoY. It is followed by the Kamiq (116,500 units) and the Kodiaq SUVs.
Advancing towards an electric future
Deliveries of the all-electric Skoda Enyaq family increased over 50% in 2023, underscoring the effectiveness of the carmaker’s electrification strategy. Last year, the Enyaq was the top-selling electric vehicle in the Czech domestic market and Slovakia and was among the top five best-sellers in several European countries, including Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Norway, and the Netherlands.
Škoda is intensifying its electric transformation by introducing plug-in hybrid versions of the new-generation Kodiaq and Superb, each offering a purely electric range of over 62 miles / 100 kilometres.
