Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 concept previews the future of luxury
Concept uses an advanced lightweight platform made of composite materials and is powered by a high-performance electric drivetrain.
The Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100, a super-luxurious, futuristic concept, has been unveiled to celebrate the centenary year of its parent company BMW.
The concept was unveiled alongside the Mini Vision Next 100 concept, a compact four-seater. Earlier this year, the BMW Vision Next 100 concept was revealed, showcasing its visions of the future of cars.
The concept is based on an advanced lightweight platform using composite materials equipped powered by a high-performance electric drivetrain. From the wheelbase to the body design, Rolls-Royce said the concept can be tailored to suit the needs of customers.

As a fully-autonomous car, the concept’s interior does not have a driver’s seat, steering wheel or instruments, which creates a “completely new sense of space”, according to the brand. The only instrument remaining is a central analogue clock below the panorama window.
The concept offers the occupants a so-called virtual personal assistant, which controls the vehicle and appears on the full-width transparent OLED display. The more time the assistant spends with passenger, the more it learns interest and need, for example favourite restaurants, taste in art and favourite routes. Using speech, passengers can also call the assistant to tailor their journey.
Materials inside the concept include Macassar wood and a hand-twisted silk on the floor and soft silk on the upholstery.

Measuring 5.9m in length, the coupé styled concept has free-standing wheel arches on either side of the radiator grille, while the Spirit of Ecstasy is made from hand-cut lead crystal and illuminated from inside.
To get in and out of the vehicle, the roof and coach door open. Passengers stand up in the car and step out, while light projections create a “red-carpet” effect.
Luggage can be stowed in the front of the Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100, with a mechanism opening a hatch in the side of the car.
