After having deployed its entire new range in Europe throughout 2013 and 2014, Renault Trucks is launching its new range of vehicles in Africa and the Middle East, thereby expanding its global presence and its ambitions to grow in international markets.
To develop this new range, the company says considerable resources were implemented in order to deliver the highest possible level of reliability, coupled with endurance, tests that were the most stringent Renault Trucks had ever carried out. The new range is therefore fully adapted to operate under the most extreme conditions as required by these regions, particularly in terms of weather conditions and challenging terrains.
At the end of October, in Johannesburg, South Africa, 120 customers attended a presentation of the Renault Trucks C and K ranges. At Doha in Qatar, on November 5 and 6, almost 250 customers were introduced to the C, K and D ranges. On each occasion, the customers were able to drive the new trucks themselves and take part in various workshops which enabled them to become more familiar with the vehicles and their specific characteristics.
“This is a great day in the history of Renault Trucks in Africa,” stated Christian Coolsaet, managing director of Renault Trucks in South Africa. “Our new range is uniquely ahead of the market in terms of robustness, productivity and services provided to our customers. By launching these new vehicles, designed to help hauliers keep costs down, Renault Trucks is supporting its customers in the contribution they make to developing the economy in the region, particularly in the field of construction and mining.” He adds: “With this new range, Renault Trucks aims to increase its market share from 2 to 5 percent in South Africa within the next three years.”
Lars-Erik Forsbergh, managing director of Renault Trucks in the Middle East, stressed the role his territory played in developing the new vehicles: “The Renault Trucks K was tested under extreme conditions for more than a year in Oman. It is essential for our customers’ businesses to know they can count on their vehicles to improve their productivity.”
Finally, to sum up, Bruno Blin, President of Renault Trucks adds: “With the launch of our new range, technically adapted to resist the challenging operating conditions found in Africa and the Middle East, we are very optimistic with regard to our future performance on these markets which can leverage significant growth for Renault Trucks.”
