Pininfarina-designed charging station revealed at CES 2020

Italian studio designs premium wall box for Swiss EV charging systems company Green Motion; highlights include a voice control system and automatic cable management to enable seamless interaction with the user

The first-ever EV charging station designed by Italian styling studio Pininfarina has gone on show at the world's most popular technology show, CES 2020 in Las Vegas.

Switzerland-headquartered Green Motion selected the CES to unveil Residenza, the very first charging station resulting from its partnership with Pininfarina. The project aims to revolutionise the market by challenging the current charging experience with new functionalities and redefine the aesthetic standards in the residential segment.

Residenza was conceived to appeal to the high-end international market, featuring Pininfarina's innovative design together with Green Motion engineering competences. Some of the EV charging station's highlights include a voice control system and automatic cable management to enable seamless interaction with the user. What's more, with sustainability being a shared value by Green Motion and Pininfarina, organic and recycled components have been used to develop Residenza.

Pininfarina says it partnered Green Motion throughout all the phases of the project, from the user experience definition to the design, until the realisation of a physical prototype and the product launch.

Green Motion SA is a renowned and fast-growing Swiss-headquartered international company which has been pioneering the design and production of charging systems for EV for over a decade. It manufactures charging stations, designs management software for charging networks, operates charging stations and is a service provider for electric mobility.

The company operates its own network of charging stations under the 'evpass' brand, which  has become the most extensive Swiss network and one of the leading European networks.The charging stations produced by Green Motion SA are entirely designed and engineered in Switzerland. Green Motion's projects-footprint includes China, India, U.S. and Israel.
