Pininfarina celebrates 95th anniversary with a new logo
The brand’s distinctive elements remain intact: the traditional emblem featuring the crowned ‘f’, an unmistakable symbol of the company since the 1930s, has been given a lighter and more contemporary graphical evolution.
The Mahindra Group-owned Pininfarina has officially launched celebrations for its 95th anniversary, marking a journey through 2025 that will highlight the legacy of this iconic name in the history of design. To commemorate the occasion, a new logo has been created, which will accompany all corporate communications and events.
“The upcoming year is not just any year,” commented Vice-Chairman and CEO Silvio Angori. “In 2025, we will celebrate an extraordinary milestone that reflects the strength of our history and the power of our vision. This achievement was made possible thanks to all our clients, who have stood by us over the years and will remain at the heart of our 95th-anniversary events. We look forward to 2025 with optimism and determination, ready to embrace future challenges and continue innovating.”
The values of purity and elegance, which have historically defined Pininfarina's identity, are the foundation of the 95th-anniversary logo. The brand’s distinctive elements remain intact: the traditional emblem featuring the crowned ‘f’, an unmistakable symbol of the company since the 1930s, has been given a lighter and more contemporary graphical evolution. Alongside it is the italicized ‘pininfarina’ logotype, introduced in 1961 when a presidential decree merged the founder’s nickname, ‘Pinin’, with the family name ‘Farina’, creating a new surname and company name. For the entire year of 2025, the logotype will be accompanied by the number ‘95’ designed in the same red as the crown.
Celebrations across key global markets
The 95th-anniversary celebrations will span some of Pininfarina’s key markets: Europe, with events in Italy (Milan and Turin, historic hubs of Italian design), France, and Germany; China, where Pininfarina has been active since 1996 through its Shanghai subsidiary, which will celebrate 15 years in 2025; United States, with must-attend events such as the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and initiatives organized by Pininfarina of America, based in Miami and New York; Middle East, where significant architectural collaborations are ongoing. 2025 will also see the awarding of the international design competition launched last August, engaging students from selected schools worldwide specializing in mobility design, interaction design, and architecture.
Pininfarina enters its anniversary year following an intense 2024, marked by the passing of Paolo Pininfarina, a loss deeply felt across the company and among Pininfarina enthusiasts worldwide. “Paolo was the heart and soul of Pininfarina: his example, dedication, and vision will continue to inspire the company in its pursuit of beauty and innovation,” emphasized Angori. In recognition of his embodiment of Pininfarina’s highest values, Paolo was posthumously awarded the 2024 American Prize for Design by the Chicago Athenaeum, presented in Athens last July.
Pininfarina developed the Foxtron Model D, a versatile lifestyle multipurpose utility vehicle for tech giant Fonconn, in 2024.
2024 was also a year of significant achievements: 19 design awards, including three related to sustainability; strategic milestones such as a 90-million euro agreement with AMG-Mercedes for the development and production of a new model; the exceptional reception of the design for the Morgan MidSummer, the first car to bear the Pininfarina Fuoriserie badge, and the Foxtron Model D, the third model developed for tech giant Foxconn.
Highlights like the presentation of the eTH – Electric Transformer House concept at CES Las Vegas, named one of the Wall Street Journal’s 16 most innovative projects; designing the new livery for the Frecce Tricolori, a symbol of national pride; continued growth in architecture; the creation of exclusive Formula 1 trophies and the restoration of the Honda HP-X concept car, displayed at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
