Pierburg bags control and exhaust-gas tech order from Chinese automotive group

Pierburg GmbH, which belongs to first-tier auto-industry supplier KSPG AG (a member of the Rheinmetall Group), has been awarded major orders worth €375 million (Rs 2,865 crore) by a notable Chinese automotive group. The products to be delivered are intended for vehicle series sold in the Chinese domestic market as well as for models marketed worldwide.

The acquired contracts for petrol and diesel engines cover throttle and control valves, differential pressure flaps, electric re-circulating water pumps, switchable mechanical water pumps as well as high- and low-pressure exhaust-gas recirculation valves.

Production for the models concerned has already started or will do so in the course of 2016, to be successively followed for other models of this manufacturer in the period up to 2020.

These mechatronic products are being manufactured at the Chinese Pierburg locations in Shanghai and Kunshan as well as at European Pierburg sites in Hartha/Germany, Abadiano/Spain, and Ústí/Czech Republic.
