At the 43rd ASEAN Summit, 10 major Southeast Asian countries will participate and discuss 'The Importance of ASEAN: Center of Growth' including developing eco-friendly infrastructure, digital transformation, creative economy and finance.
While 272 Ioniq 5s will be used throughout the event, including for protocol and emergency situations during the event, 74 Ioniq 6s will be deployed as ceremonial vehicles for the spouses of the delegation.
Hyundai Motor Company has provided 24-hour emergency service and on-site charging service to ensure the safety and convenience of the delegations of participating countries, and provided vehicle function and driving training to Indonesia's Presidential Security Unit (Paspampres), which is responsible for driving the vehicles of the heads of state and other delegations of each country. Last year, Hyundai had provided 117 Ioniq 5s for VIP greetings and spouse ceremonies at the 42nd ASEAN Summit held in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia. At the 2022 G20 Bali Summit, a total of 393 vehicles were on duty, including 44 long-wheelbase G80 electric models and 262 Hyundai Ioniq 5s.
