At its annual general meeting held yesterday in Yokohama, Japan, Nissan Motor Co president and CEO Carlos Ghosn announced board and senior management changes which were approved by the company’s Board of Directors.
Toshiyuki Shiga has stepped down as a representative director. He will continue to serve on the board as a director and continues as a Nissan vice-chairman.
Hiroto Saikawa, representative director and chief competitive officer, has been appointed vice-chairman in addition to his current responsibilities.
The Board also approved the promotion of Yasuhiro Yamauchi to the position of Nissan executive vice-president. Yamauchi will continue to lead the Alliance RNPO global purchasing organization and retains his title as Alliance executive vice-president.
The Board moves are effective immediately; Yamauchi’s appointment is effective July 1, 2015.
