Nissan has announced its sales results for the month of September 2015 and the six-month period from April to September 2015. Global sales of the Japanese carmaker have increased 4.6% YoY to 460,509 units, marking an all-time sales record for September.
In Japan, sales including mini-vehicles declined 8.3% YoY to 56,544 units, while vehicle registrations decreased 5.5% YoY to 37,622 units and mini-vehicle sales decreased 13.4% YoY to 18,922 units.
Sales outside of Japan increased 6.7% YoY to 403,965 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of September.
In the US, the figures increased 18.3% YoY to 121,782 units, mainly due to higher demand for the Rogue and the Versa sedan. The company also sold 28,313 units in Mexico, up 17.5% YoY, mainly due to increased demand for the NP300 Frontier and the Versa. In Europe, sales increased 11.8% YoY to 78,720 units, due to strong demand of the Pulsar and the Qashqai.
Meanwhile in China, the automaker sold 97,868 units, up 2.9% YoY, after a surge in demand for the X-Trail and the Sylphy series.
However, the sales in other regions were down 14.7% YoY to 65,117 units. In India, Nissan sold a total of 2,616 cars, down 36% YoY.
April-September 2015 sales
The company’s global sales increased 1.3% YoY to 2,589,097 units, marking a record high for the April-September period.
Sales in the home market however were down. In Japan, sales including mini-vehicles declined 9.0% YoY to 264,793 units, vehicle registrations decreased 3.7% YoY to 176,061 units, and mini-vehicle sales decreased 17.9% YoY to 88,732 units.
Sales outside of Japan were up 2.6% YoY to 2,324,304 units, also marking a record high for the April-September period. In the US, the figures increased 6.6% YoY to 754,860 units. Meanwhile sales in Mexico increased 20.3% YoY to 166,095 units, while sales in Europe were up 10% YoY to 367,141 units. The company’s sales in China however decreased 2.6% YoY to 562,455 units. The carmaker’s sales in other regions were down 5.3% YoY to 399,631 units.
