Nissan’s global sales up 7.4 percent in first half of CY2014
Nissan’s global sales have notched a 7.4 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase to 2,711,673 units in the first six months of calendar 2014, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.
Nissan’s global sales have notched a 7.4 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase to 2,711,673 units in the first six months of calendar 2014, marking an all-time record for the January-June period.
Including mini-vehicles, the Japanese carmaker sold 387,143 units in Japan, up 11.4 percent YoY. In Japan, vehicle registrations declined 6.8 percent YoY to 248,030 units. Sales of mini-vehicles in Japan rose 71.0 percent YoY to 139,113 units, which is an all-time high for the first half of a year. Likewise, sales outside of Japan were up 6.8 percent YoY to 2,324,530 units.
All-time sales highs were also recorded in the US, Mexico and Europe. In the US market, sales increased 12.8 percent YoY to 704,477 units. In Mexico though, sales were flat at 0.7 percent YoY growth to 128,237 units. Sales in Europe were up 13.4 percent YoY to 375,254 units.
In China, sales increased 14.6 percent YoY to 620,372 units. Sales in other regions declined 4.0 percent YoY to 439,417 units.
On the export front, however, Nissan's shipments fell 5.4 percent YoY to 218,554 units.
On the global production front, output increased 8.8 percent YoY to 2,623,219 units, an all-time record for the January-June period.
