Nissan global sales down 0.9% in Nov as home market slump continues
In Japan, overall sales continued to decline for the 18th consecutive month. Sales went down by 9.3% YoY to 41,786 units, while vehicle registrations decreased 8.8% YoY to 24,904 units.
Nissan Motor Co Ltd announced its production, sales and export figures for November 2015.
The global sales of the carmaker decreased for the first time in six months by 0.9% YoY to 438,557 units.
In Japan, the automaker’s home market, overall sales (including mini-vehicles) continued to decline for the 18th consecutive month. Sales went down by 9.3% YoY to 41,786 units, while vehicle registrations decreased 8.8% YoY to 24,904 units. Sales of mini-vehicle decreased 10.1% YoY to 16,882 units.
Meanwhile sales outside Japan just managed to stay in the green with a rise of 0.1% YoY to 396,771 units, the seventh consecutive month of increase.
Sales in the USA and Mexico continued to remain positive with 3.8% and 4.9% YoY respectively. Both the markets recorded an all-time record for the month of November.
Meanwhile in Europe, sales decreased 14.8% YoY to 55,742 units, whereas China sales increased by 21.9% YoY to 122,689 units.
Sales in other regions were down 3.3% YoY to 71,743 units.
Production
At the production front, Nissan reported an increase of 6.2% YoY to 461,127 units. Production in Japan and outside Japan both increased by 6.2% YoY.
The USA and Mexico managed to set all-time records for November in terms of production as well with an increase of 9.6% and 3.9% YoY, respectively.
In Europe, the UK and Spain reported a decline in production by 2.4% and 17.1% respectively; while China’s production was up 14% YoY to 130,758 units.
Production in other regions increased 0.1% YoY to 58,727 units.
Exports
Nissan's exports in November increased 8.2% YoY to 43,637 units, the second consecutive month of increase after a three month slump.
