James Murdoch, CEO of 21st Century Fox, the parent company of Fox news among others and Linda Johnson Rice, chairman and CEO, of Johnson Publishing Company (JPC) have joined electric carmaker Tesla’s Board of Directors.
Murdoch, the son of media baron Rupert Murdoch, has held senior leadership roles at different companies in his career spanning two decades, including CEO of Star TV in India. Rice, apart from being CEO of JPC, is also CEO for Ebony Media Operations and chairman emeritus of Ebony Media Holdings, the parent company for the EBONY and Jet brands.
With Murdoch and Rice joining Tesla, the board of directors at the EV maker will grow to nine directors, including Kimbal Musk, brother of Elon Musk, Antonio Gracias, founder of private-equity firm and director at SpaceX, Ira Ehrenpreis, venture capitalist and investor SpaceX, Steve Jurveton, venture investor and SpaceX director, Robyn Denholm, COO of Telstra a Australian telecommunication company and Brad Buss, former CFO at SolarCity Corporation.
