India retains No. 3 spot in global car sales but Japan fast closing the gap

With sales of 4.11 million passenger vehicles in CY2023, India retains its  global No. 3 position but a fast-recovering Japan, which sold a shade below 4 million units, has reduced the gap from 344,000 units in 2022 to 115,000 units last year.
