In an effort to make gains in the world's largest electric vehicle market, Hyundai showcased new Lafesta electric sedan at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The Lafesta’s highlights include improved ADAS features and connectivity solutions.

The Lafesta EV is slated to go on sale in China starting early 2020. Other than the Lafesta EV, eight other models and four technology concepts along with experiential spaces are on show at Guangzhou.

Along with the electric motor's maximum power of 150kW and maximum torque of 310 Nm, the Lafesta EV is equipped with a 56.5kWh high-capacity lithium battery with a drive range of 490km on a single charge.

According to Seogju Cha, executive vice-president and CTO, Hyundai Motor Group (China), “With the launch of the Lafesta EV, Hyundai Motor Company is accelerating the popularisation of its electrification drive in China at full throttle."

Hyundai has also brought back the 45 EV concept which was unveiled in the Frankfurt show last September. The concept car embodies a monocoque construction that combines the body and chassis in a single unit, lending itself its aerodynamic and lightweight frame.
