Along with a host of four-wheel exhibits including the hot Sports EV, Honda today took the covers off the PCX Electric, an all-electric urban scooter. The eco-friendly urban runabout is 1923mm long, 745mm wide, and 1107mm tall.
This latest Honda on two wheels, which develops 0.98kW, is equipped with a high-output motor developed independently by Honda as well as the Honda Mobile Power Pack, a detachable lithium ion mobile battery pack.
The Honda PCX Electric is scheduled to go on sale in 2018 in the Asia region including Japan.
The company has also showcased the PCX Hybrid which employs an original hybrid system designed for motorcycles. This compact hybrid system employs a high-output battery and ACG starter to assist the engine and enables PCX Hybrid to enable a torquey riding performance. Like the PCX Electric, the Honda PCX Hybrid is scheduled to go on sale in 2018 in the Asia region including Japan.
While no further details have been revealed or whether India is on the Asian market product strategy, with the Auto Expo 2018 in New Delhi barely four months away and India pulling out all stops to promote electric mobility, Honda just might decide to showcase the PCX Electric at the Auto Expo.
