Honda to display range of energy management technologies in Tokyo
Honda plans to exhibit a broad range of its energy management technologies including the all-new fuel cell vehicle (FCV) at the Smart Mobility City 2015.
Honda Motor Co has announced plans to exhibit a broad range of its energy management technologies, including the all-new fuel cell vehicle (FCV) at the Smart Mobility City 2015, a separate exhibition to be held alongside the 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015 which opens next week.
Under the theme of 'enabling people to live comfortably with peace of mind' using technologies to ‘generate, use and get connected’ for energy, Honda will present its vision of a ‘smart community’. The exhibit will include the carmaker’s original Smart Hydrogen Station (SHS) equipped with its ‘Power Creator’, a high-differential-pressure electrolyser that generates energy, the all-new FCV that uses energy and the ‘Power Exporter 9000’, an external power output that supplies energy from FCVs and electric vehicles (EVs) to homes and other facilities to encourage communities to ‘get connected’ for energy.
Honda will also showcase power feeding from an FCV using the Honda Power Manager, a vehicle to home (V2H) compatible DC charger that can be charged with renewable energy. Honda also will showcase a removable mobile battery pack which can be used as a renewable energy carrier. The exhibit will include the new micro-sized EV concept model which uses the mobile battery pack as a power source.
Additionally, on November 4, the Japanese automaker will co-host a symposium titled ‘Life in the future will be changed by smart mobility’. At the symposium, Honda will present its findings from field tests of the MC-β, a new micro-sized mobility product it has been testing with the Kumamoto Prefecture, Saitama City, and Miyakojima City in Japan since November 2013. The findings of the field tests will form a proposed direction for city planning and smart mobility for the future.
