The shareholders' meeting of Hella KGaA Hueck & Co has adopted the annual financial statements for the 2013/2014 fiscal year (which closed on May 31, 2014) and at the same time confirmed the company's international growth strategy.
The Group's officially audited sales amount to 5.3 billion Euros (previous year: 4.8 billion Euros), with an operating result (EBIT) reaching 341 million Euros (previous year: 291 million Euros). In the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2014/2015, Hella, as one of the world's leading automotive suppliers for lighting and electronics, has successfully continued its course of expansion. Sales rose by 4.5 percent to about 1.32 billion Euros, after having attained 1.26 billion Euros in the same quarter of the previous year. During the same period, the company increased the operating result (EBIT) by more than 50 percent to 91 million Euros (previous year 59 million Euros). This corresponds to an EBIT margin of 6.9 percent.
Continued high demand and new product launches in the global automotive business, particularly in the growth markets in America and China, were the main drivers behind the positive development in the current fiscal year. "We have systematically strengthened our leading position in attractive market segments. Combined with our technological excellence and our innovational leadership, we are in an optimal position to react in just the right way to the global megatrends," says Dr. Rolf Breidenbach, president and CEO. "In particular the high demand for innovative LED and electronics products is supporting us along our growth strategy."
