Faurecia, one of the world's largest automotive equipment suppliers, has opened a new tech centrein Silicon Valley to strengthen its relationships with automakers, innovative startups, leading universities and new actors in the mobility sector.
Faurecia says it will accelerate its start-up scouting activities in the region and build a technology platform for its Smart Life on Board and Sustainable Mobility innovation ecosystems. The tech centre will host one of the Group’s Artifical Intelligence teams.
Commenting on the new facility, Patrick Koller, CEO, Faurecia: “The opening of our tech centregives Faurecia a unique opportunity to strengthen its position as the central link between all actors in the mobility sector. The concentration of stakeholders crucial to our ecosystem will allow us to step up our transformation and enable us to offer innovative solutions to attract new customers.”
The Group has been active in the region for over five years and has forged strong ties with the local ecosystem, including Stanford University and the world's largest startup accelerator, Plug and Play.
