ElringKlinger AG has received the ZF Supplier Award in recognition of its excellence in innovation.

The panel of judges was particularly impressed by the pioneering sandwich plate for automatic transmissions, which allows the integration of a number of additional functions. Due to its special design and more compact dimensions, it also combines the benefits of lower weight and tangible cost savings. Alongside control plates for automatic transmissions, ElringKlinger also supplies ZF with specialty gaskets, composite metal-elastomer pistons, lightweight components and shielding parts. ZF has established itself as a global leader in the field of driveline and chassis technology.

A keen understanding of the technical challenges of the future and the ability to team up with ZF for the purpose of developing tailor-made solutions that stand out in terms of functionality and commercial viability are key prerequisites for securing the coveted ZF Supplier Award for excellence in innovation. After 2007, this is the second time that ElringKlinger has been honored with this award.

The award ceremony took place as part of the Materials Management Symposium held in Friedrichshafen. "We are very proud to have received this award, and it also serves as an incentive for the future. We will now be looking to make it a 'triple' success, preferably in 2015, the anniversary year of ZF," said member of the ElringKlinger Management Board Karl Schmauder, who was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the entire ElringKlinger team. He emphasized the excellent working relationship established between the two companies as a basis for their shared culture of innovation.

Each year, ElringKlinger spends between five and six percent of its revenue on research and development, which forms an essential element of the company's strategic approach.
