EDAG Group and Baier Motors have developed the motorcycle, which is at prototype stage, specifically for African markets.
The production-ready motorcycle is expected to be ready in two years – with the option of either a combustion engine or an electric powertrain.
Baier Motors is currently scouting for additional investors for the Oryx project.
The focus is on producing a rugged, reliable, user-friendly and cost-efficient motorcycle.
The size of the African two-wheeler market, estimated at US$ 3.69 billion in 2024, is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.3% to US$ 5.94 billion by 2029.
