Bosch and Immersion enter into an agreement for Haptic Technology

Bosch has entered into a deal with Immersion Corporation for access into Immersion's patented haptic technology.

Immersion Corporation, a leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, has announced that it has signed a multi-year license agreement with Robert Bosch Car Multimedia GmbH, a subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, providing Bosch with access to its patented haptic technology for use in Bosch's automotive solutions.

The California-based Immersion provides technology solutions for creating immersive and realistic experiences that enhance digital interactions by engaging users’ sense of touch. It also provides haptics in mobile, automotive, gaming, medical and consumer electronics product.

Immersion’s TouchSense® technology enhances in-vehicle interfaces and applications. Increasingly, haptics is being designed into automotive applications as more and more vehicles incorporate high-quality tactile effects for operations such as entertainment, navigation and climate control.
