SAIC-GM-Wuling has revealed its newest product – the Baojun 310 hatchback – which joins the portfolio of one of the fastest-growing brands in China.
The debut comes on the heels of a record 45,002 sales in March, an increase of 82 percent year over year.
The Baojun 310 has a double-U-shaped front end that carries forward the traditional styling of the Baojun family. It is complemented by curved bow dual beltlines along the side and a fashionable tail. Built on an independently developed platform from SAIC-GM-Wuling, the Baojun 310 has a 2,550mm wheelbase, giving it more space in the front and back for greater ride comfort.
Powering the Baojun 310 is a 1.2-litre P-TEC engine matched with a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine generates maximum power of 60.3 kW/5,600 rpm and maximum torque of 116 Nm/3,600-4,000 rpm. The highly efficient hatchback offers fuel economy of 5.3 km/liter.
Its 4/6 split-folding rear seats have a flat-folding function, providing additional space. The Baojun 310 also comes with 18 user-friendly storage spaces to meet the diverse needs of its occupants.
The Baojun 310 has a stylish, youthful all-black interior with a harmonious U-shaped design that separates gauges from controls for ease of use. It incorporates upscale leather seats with orange trim along with chrome accents on gauges and air-conditioning outlets. Side panels and armrests utilise double stitching, which is indicative of the hatchback’s quality.
The Baojun 310 comes with many class-leading premium features, including an 8-inch touch-screen, a 3.2-inch trip computer, an integrated instrument panel and power sunroof, Electric Power Steering (EPS), constant-speed cruise control, rearview mirrors with a heating function, four air bags, a floating multi-function steering wheel, GPS navigation, a backup camera and Bluetooth.
