BASF’s Coatings Division has received the ‘Excellent Supplier 2014: Leading Technology Award’ by Shanghai General Motors Co (SGM).
BASF Shanghai Coatings Co was the only paint supplier which has won the annual award from around 4,000 suppliers to SGM. "We value our long-term partnership with BASF. We are impressed with the timely and efficient on-site service of the company. This supports our business and our goal is to act sustainably," said Adam Chang, senior manager (Purchasing Department), Shanghai General Motors Company. "With the innovative coating technology from BASF, we have reduced the consumption of solvents and the emission of volatile organic compounds in our painting and so our car production more sustainable."
Since 1998, BASF has been a partner to SGM and supplies a wide range of products for automotive painting. These include water-based coatings and cathodic dip coating CathoGuard 800th. The latest CDC range CathoGuard 800 contains no tin and is valued for its low solvent content.
"We are thrilled that we have received this award. Our account management team, our technical team and our service team on site to work closely with our clients to ensure the best production sequence and the best performance of our products," said Dr Thierry Herning, managing director, BASF Shanghai Coatings Co., Ltd.
