Audi sells 146,200 cars globally in October, double-digit growth in China, US and the UK

Audi has notched 17 percent year on year growth in China in October.

Audi has announced that it has notched a significant sales growth in the fourth quarter of the year. In October 2014, its worldwide sales increased by 10.8 percent compared to the previous month to around 146,200 cars. Cumulatively, Audi sales increased to approximately 1,444,900 units from January to 10.1 percent. Last month this was mainly attributable to three major export markets of the four rings with clear double-digit growth in China with 17.0 percent, 16.5 percent and plus USA with Great Britain with plus 22.1 percent.

"With this successful start in the last quarter Audi keeps on course for a successful 2014," said Luca de Meo, Director of Sales at Audi AG. "It is particularly pleasing that we set in all regions worldwide and now sell well in Europe more cars than ever before."

While the overall European market remains well below the pre-crisis level of 2007, the German carmaker recorded with around 655,100 deliveries from January to October a new record in the region. Last month, Audi delivered around 65,100 cars in Europe and thus 5.4 percent more than a year ago, especially the Q5 SUV.

Among the major markets of the region, primarily Belgium (+ 11.9% to 2,725 cars), Spain (+ 21.3% to 3,139 cars) and again the UK a strong balance month ago: In the UK, sales picked last for 22.1 percent to 12,721 cars. On the German home market, where Audi YTD achieved an increase of 3.5 percent to 220,948 deliveries, the premium manufacturer was the month of October in the previous year to complete (+ 0.5% to 22,905 cars). In a difficult market environment in Russia deliveries totaled 2,624 in October, up 15.8 percent YoY. With a decline of 5.8 percent to 28,348 units in January, the business for Audi, but it is significantly more stable than the Russian market as a whole.

This trend continued in October in particular Japan (+ 14.9% to 1,976 cars), Australia (+ 27.0% to 1,627 cars) and Canada (+ 28.1% to 2,497 cars) away. In all these markets, Audi says it achieved today about twice as many customers as five years ago. In Turkey, the sales volume has tripled in the same period around, exceeding October 1,453 deliveries with the same month last year to 35.7 percent. Sales in Brazil doubled (+ 84.5% to 1,201 cars) with accumulated the demand for Audi models within a year to 10,866.

Among the major sales regions of the four rings in October led to the growth of North America: plus 17.3 percent to 18,595 cars. The US alone amounted to 15,150 customers 16.5 percent increase. In China, the carmaker expanded its market position in the premium compact segment. The company continued last month its double-digit growth and increased its sales by 17.0 percent to 48,108 sales.
