Aston Martin’s ongoing expansion in the important China region – its fastest-growing market – continues to gather pace with the opening of the luxury British sports car brand’s second official dealership in the Chinese capital, Beijing, a couple of days ahead of the Beijing Motor Show.
Operated by Wintop Group and known as Aston Martin Beijing, the new dealership comprises a 400-square metre showroom at No.99 Jinbao Street, Dongcheng District in Beijing. Officially opened yesterday by Wintop Group CEO Mr Li Hong along with Aston Martin president and CEO Dr Andy Palmer and Martyn Roper, British Embassy Minister and Deputy Head of Mission, the new showroom represents Aston Martin’s ongoing commitment to its Chinese customers.
Speaking at the opening of Aston Martin Beijing, Li Hong said: “We are delighted to be opening this new showroom which will provide our customers with an extensive range of new and ‘Timeless’ pre-owned models. We look forward to welcoming new and existing Aston Martin owners to our new showroom providing a ‘one-stop’ shop for world-class customer service and sales.”
Dr. Andy Palmer, Aston Martin president and CEO, Aston Martin, commented, “The Chinese market which was our fastest growing region in 2017, remains key to Aston Martin’s future success. With the launch of this state-of-the-art facility in partnership with the Wintop Group, we are committed to not only providing our customers with the best service, but the best luxury experience.”
In 2017, Aston Martin posted a profit of £87 million (Rs 856 crore) – £250 million (Rs 2,461 crore) more than the £163 million (Rs 1,604 crore) loss the brand posted in 2016. This was driven by a 58 percent upswing in global sales compared with 2016, with 5,117 cars finding homes across the year. £876 million (Rs 8,622 crore) in revenue was raised – 48 percent up on 2016.
The largest market for volume for Aston Martin is the UK, although the fastest-growing market is China. The introduction of the DB11 Volante, Vantage and Vanquish is likely to push Aston even higher into profit, however.
