In a bid to enhance the global battery materials supply chain, Altmin India, a leading manufacturer of Lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) and other cathode active materials, has signed a collaboration pact with WMG, University of Warwick in the UK.
Aimed at fortifying its position in the global battery materials supply chain, the partnership is facilitated through a research and development agreement and marks a significant milestone in Altmin's journey towards advancing battery technology. Under this agreement, Altmin and WMG will work closely to optimise cathode materials and develop multiple cell designs across various form factors.
According to Altmin India, Professor Louis Piper and his team at WMG bring a wealth of experience and expertise in battery materials and cell development, making them the ideal partner for Altmin's ambitious expansion plants. The collaborative efforts will be housed at WMG's state-of-the-art facility at the Energy Innovation Centre, providing a conducive environment for innovation and research.
Altmin's strategic integration of LFP technology with WMG's capabilities represents a forward leap in the company's mission to industrialize battery materials manufacturing on a giga-factory scale. Initially focusing on India, Altmin envisions expanding its operations to the UK, Europe, and the USA, thus contributing to the global advancement of battery technology.

Last month, Altmin had announced securing growth capital which will be utilized to fund its first 3 GWh manufacturing facility. The transaction represents a significant milestone in the electric vehicle value chain in India.
