Aisin to set up Innovation Centre to drive Group Vision 2020

In a bid to strengthen its global business strategy and create market-leading products, the Aisin Group plans to set up a new Innovation Center.

As part of its Group Vision 2020, it has targeted global sales of 3.3 trillion yen (Rs 171,600 crore). The company says it has been progressing towards that goal thanks to the expansion of global offices, developing and marketing system products and infrastructure construction.

This is an ongoing effort despite the competition from rivals in new and emerging countries, mergers and acquisitions by global suppliers, stringent environmental regulations and advanced driver assistance programs.

To cope with these changes, the Aisin Group companies plan to further strengthen the development and promotion of management and business strategy as a whole perspective by changing the larger organizational structure. Under this new organizational structure, the Group’s aim is to be an "irreplaceable global partner" of customers all over the world.

This will include strengthening of group management and business strategy function and develop an end-user point of view and long-term perspective transformation into a management system that can create a market-creating products and new business in the form of a new business model, and the Innovation Center.

The technology development department will see a name change to ‘CAE Technology Department’ to handle analysis, simulation and digital engineering with a focus on new technology development. Likewise, for electronics, the plan is to strengthen the Electronic Technology Division to plan better and promote measures that aim to strengthen the entire electronic area.

Aisin is also setting up a Life Skills Development Department for a variety of technologies, know-how and human resources to promote manufacturing.
