The Indian School for Design of Automobiles (INDEA), affiliated with XLRI Centre for Automobile Design & Management, participated in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, highlighting its vision for automotive design education in India. As the country's first dedicated school for automobile design and management, INDEA aims to align academic training with industry requirements in the rapidly evolving automotive sector.
At the expo, INDEA engaged with industry leaders to explore potential collaborations and gather insights into automotive design needs. The booth, inaugurated by automotive industry veteran I.V. Rao and automotive journalist Adil Jal Darukhanawala, served as a platform for discussing India's design heritage and future industry directions.
The event provided an opportunity for INDEA to interact with aspiring designers and industry experts, focusing on emerging trends in mobility, including electric vehicles and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Visitors used design tablets to create illustrations, showcasing potential future automotive design concepts.
Fr. Dr. K.S. Casimir, Director of XLRI Delhi-NCR, emphasized the importance of industry collaboration in refining educational curricula. Avik Chattopadhyay, Chairperson of XADM and INDEA Founder, noted that the expo was crucial for strengthening engagement with industry stakeholders and gathering insights to optimize their design program.
The automotive design education sector in India is rapidly evolving, with increasing focus on innovation, sustainability, and technological advancement. INDEA's participation in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo represents a significant step in bridging the gap between academic training and industry needs in the automotive design landscape.
